Baltimore Signs Trey Hendrickson to Four Years, $112M — Thirteen Hours After the Crosby Trade Fell Apart
The NFL's sack leader in 2024. Four years, $112M, $60M fully guaranteed. The Ravens went and found their pass rusher the same afternoon the Crosby deal collapsed.

The Baltimore Ravens signed edge rusher Trey Hendrickson to a four-year contract worth $112 million, with a maximum value of $120 million including sack incentives and $60 million fully guaranteed — completing a transaction that came together within hours of Baltimore's failed attempt to acquire Maxx Crosby from Las Vegas.
Hendrickson, 31, led the NFL with 17.5 sacks in 2024 while playing for Cincinnati, establishing himself over the last three seasons as the most consistently productive pass rusher in the AFC North. His release from the Bengals, who faced significant cap constraints following the Trey Hendrickson contract year alongside other roster obligations, created an opening in the market that Baltimore moved to close as soon as the Crosby situation resolved.
General manager Eric DeCosta had already identified Hendrickson as an alternative target before the Crosby physical. The speed of the pivot — a new deal executed within a single business day — reflects both the preparation of Baltimore's front office and the organizational urgency to add pass-rush production before the rest of the market moved.
For Baltimore's defensive construction, Hendrickson provides a specific quality that the organization had been trying to acquire: an experienced pass rusher capable of producing double-digit sacks within a system, consistently, over the length of a season. Defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald's scheme asks the edge position to function as the primary pressure generator, and the Ravens' sack production in 2025 ranked inside the bottom half of the league — a recurring limitation the Hendrickson acquisition directly addresses.
At 31, Hendrickson is entering the back half of his career production window, and the four-year commitment reflects Baltimore's confidence in both his physical maintenance and his technique-based pass-rush style, which is less dependent on burst speed than the power conversion and timing mechanics that tend to age more reliably than pure athleticism.
